mural proposals

Here are a few photoshopped pictures of empty walls around the neighborhood with sketches I made this week.  Do you own one of these walls? HAHA JK

My favorite 1.  This could happen pretty easily in 1 day with a cherry picker.

evolution of a design

I've been really obsessing over doing my own murals lately.  I worked on these designs for a proposal in my sketchbook over the weekend.  The ideas start out really flat then gain some depth.   My favorites are 4 and 7.  I've only done 1 or 2 murals/signs in spray paint but I think it would be really cool to try to make some of those textures you get with pencil and marker with the spray paint.

working with a sewing machine

I've been using this great recycled paper and gluing some prints onto them and then working with a sewing machine to frame or draw into them.  I love the way the prints look on recycled paper.

 I am generating new ideas of displaying photographs in the studio.  I like having the wall space to experiment with these compositions.  They become more like a mural when they get scaled up and adding more and more images allows a flexibility in meaning.
