Small Sewn Pieces

I've been working in the studio on some new small pieces.  These are all under 25 inches, some as small as 6 or 7 inches.

working with a sewing machine

I've been using this great recycled paper and gluing some prints onto them and then working with a sewing machine to frame or draw into them.  I love the way the prints look on recycled paper.

shadow blob

I am generating new ideas of displaying photographs in the studio.  I like having the wall space to experiment with these compositions.  They become more like a mural when they get scaled up and adding more and more images allows a flexibility in meaning.

digital collage

These are a few digital collages I've made using images from the internet.

Violence, 2015

Control, 2015

I am looking to make some large scale prints of these images and perhaps even make them into flags

Studio time

I'm happy to be in the studio these past few weeks working on xerox paintings, water colors, and even some glass paintings.  I've had a lot of time lately and it's given me an opportunity to explore a lot ideas that have been stewing for awhile.

"1 shot" paint on glass.  I did this one with a quill painting on the back of the glass.  I've never done anything quite like this but I'm really happy with how it came out.  I love the design that book ends the skull,

COFFEE TABLE

JUST FINISHED VARNISHING THIS PIECE.  I'M EXCITED FOR SOMEONE TO HAVE IT IN THEIR LIVING ROOM OR OFFICE.

THIS IS AN IKEA COFFEE TABLE THAT I TRANSFERRED A XEROX COLLAGE ONTO.  I'D LOVE TO START GETTING MY OWN FURNITURE MADE AND FABRICATE MORE OF THESE.  THE TABLE HAS BEEN VARNISHED AND THIS PIECE IS INTENDED TO BE FUNCTIONAL.

some new pieces

These are two smaller panels that I've painted on and will be tranferring a xerox image onto.  I wanted to show some before and after shots of the paint because they'll change so much once the xerox is tranferred.

you can see how small the two new ones are right here.  I've been working on some larger things lately as well and will be posting images of those in the near future.
