Color Painting

I always find it helpful and fun to get my paints and brushes out and make a mess with color every now and then.  I'm most interested right now in making representational work; figures, landscapes, scenes.  But my love for painting lies in getting to play with color and light.  I wouldn't exactly call these abstract pieces.  They aren't meant to describe a feeling or a concept.  I don't start out with an idea.  Or have a destination.  I usually start with a color and build on that.  Often times, like these three pieces, I'll start with the same color and take each painting off in a different direction.  These are more like action paintings on a smaller scale.

These three pieces were made in December of 2015 and each measures 11 x 15 inches
